Australian sexual wellness retailer Wild Secrets has reported a sharp spike in sales of men’s products in the week following the blocking of major adult websites in Australia.
New online safety rules requiring age verification for adult content came into force on 9 March 2026, prompting some of the world’s largest adult platforms, including Pornhub and other Aylo-owned sites, to restrict access for Australian users rather than implement the required verification systems.
Key data from the past week:
- ↑ Sales of men’s sex toys increased by 30% week-on-week
- ↑ Fleshlight branded products surged 63%
- ★ Adam & Eve branded sex dolls became the best-selling items
Wild Secrets Merchandise Manager Molly Berry said the change highlights how Australians are adapting quickly to the new online landscape.
“When a major source of adult entertainment suddenly becomes harder to access, people look for alternatives that offer privacy and control… What we’re seeing is men turning to premium sexual wellness products as a way to explore pleasure.”
Wild Secrets has also seen an increase in app-connected intimacy devices, suggesting some couples are creating their own interactive alternatives. Products such as the Lovense Lush 4 allow partners to control sensations remotely through a smartphone app.
